Sacred Symbols~~The Helm Of Awe
The Helm of Awe is such a sacred symbol from where you can draw great strength from. I draw it often on papers, carve it in candles, and imagine it in meditation. I call on it when I need extra protection from harm as well as for overcoming resistance in things I am currently working on. Years ago I drew this symbol on a flashcard, folded it up, and carried it in my wallet. It is still there today. I just keep transferring it every time I get a new wallet!
It's foundation begins in the form of an eight-spoked wheel. The number eight usually implies the completion of something. The Helm of Awe is based on the eight heavily armed star symbol. If you look closely enough you will see the Rune, ELHAS, formed by the tine at the end of each of the eight arms. Elhaz is the rune of protection. There are other Runes that you can find within the Helm of Awe, but ELHAZ is most present. I will talk more about Elhaz in a later blog post.
Helm comes from the word "helmet" and this sacred symbol was placed on the forehead of many fighter's helmets. There is a practice that I HIGHLY recommend, as it has worked for me for years. Visualize this symbol in red in the region of your third eye---right between your eyes. As you focus on the symbol, you will after some practice, feel stronger with new energy and understanding. Watch for events that are unexpected to happen, which signifies this symbol is working for you!!! All it takes is a bit of belief.
Dig deep and try this fun visualization practice!
